In "Where the Birds waited," I explore the delicate, intertwined nature of human duality through a vibrant, symbolic garden of emotions. The central figure, crowned with fruits and blossoms, embodies a pure, introspective soul — her closed eyes suggesting an inner world where beauty, temptation, innocence, and desire coexist. The lemons and lush greenery symbolize vitality and temptation, while the soft white roses evoke purity and spiritual aspiration. The two birds, tender and intertwined, speak to love, loyalty, and also the potential for possessiveness — a tender balance between care and control.

The mirrored shadow figure in the background hints at the hidden, often suppressed aspects of the self — the struggles, the doubts, the temptations we hide behind a serene face. The drips of paint and the blending of forms reflect the inevitable bleeding together of vice and virtue in every human heart. They are not separate forces, but ever-present companions, growing and shaping who we become.

Through this work, I invite the viewer to reflect: true virtue is not the absence of vice, but the courageous act of acknowledging, balancing, and transcending it.
